Apple’s iOS 13 software is the successor to iOS 12 for various Apple devices like the iPhone, iPod Touch, HomePod etc. It was announced at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on 3rd June, 2019 and was officially released on 19th September, 2019. Similar to its predecessors, iOS 13 brought a host of new and exciting features to the supported devices with various quality of life improvements as well. Turn on Dark Mode
Dark Mode is a cool new theme for your iOS device that can reduce eye strain and also sometime increase our battery life as well. As the name suggest, this theme will literally invert most app white background into a dark one. Users can Turn on Dark mode through Siri voice command “Switch on Dark Mode” easily. Additionally, Users can also manually turn on Dark mode through the Control center or Long Pressing the brightness control.

Reduce Cellular Data Usage
Apple has added a new feature in iOS 13 called “Low Data Mode” that can potentially limit app data usage and conserve our cellular data. This feature is very handy in various cases where we have limited cellular data and want to conserve it as much as we can. Here, Users can turn on this feature easily through Settings> Cellular> Cellular Data Options> Low data mode.

Enable Assistive Touch
Assistive touch in iOS 13 can be an alternative to Apple’s physical home buttons found in its older models of the iPhones. Through this, Users can enable a virtual Home button in their devices to activate features like Siri, Control Centre, Notifications and others. Also, users can change its positing through press, hold and drag easily. The said feature can be enabled through Settings> Accessibility> Touch> Assistive Touch.

Activate Safari Automated Tab Clearing
Most of us likely won’t keep tracks about the number of safari tabs that are open in our devices. As a result, they keep on piling up and can result in excessive resource usage and other complications. Now, iOS 13 brings a new feature to automatically clear old browsing tabs in the browser that haven’t been used for a while. To enable this feature, Users have to navigate to Settings> Safari> Close Tabs> Manually (change to a day, Week, Months etc.)

Apple Arcade is a gaming subscription service from Apple that allows users to play various popular titles in their devices. Similarly, the service was first soft-launched to iOS 13 beta testers and the overall response is quite good. Likewise, the prices are reasonable at $4.99 monthly with access for up to 5 people through Family Sharing service.

Silence Unknown Callers
iOS 13 has a new privacy feature named “Silence Unknown Callers” that can potentially protect users from various fraud and prank calls. This is a great safety measure from scammers, frauds, spams, telemarketers etc. However, this feature is disabled as default and users have to manually enable it through Settings> Phone> Silence Unknown Callers.

iOS 13 also brings new camera features to the supported devices as well. Firstly, there is a new lightning intensity tool that allows users to virtually change many aspects of their images. Also, users have the option to change intensity of their adjustment as well. Similarly, there is a new monochrome camera mode called “High-Key Light Mono” as well.

iOS 13 also brings a healthy amount of feature updates to Apple Maps as well. Some of its highlights include the new Look Around feature, Better Street view and many more. Also, the overall application as been tweaked to provide a much smoother user experience.

As we all know, batteries degrade over time and they eventually need to be replaced with a new one. In iOS 13, Apple has introduced a new “Optimize Battery Charging” feature that may potentially prolong our battery health. Here, the feature learns our usage pattern and limits the charging to 80%. And, the rest 20% is charged just before we need it. Users can enable this feature through Settings> Battery> Battery Health> Optimized Battery Charging easily.

In iOS 13, Siri can now scan your calendar, Mails, Wallets etc. for various flight information’s stored in our device. After that, it can provide you with accurate information’s about the Flight Terminal, departure time, gate location’s and many more. Furthermore, it can also notify you about your flight’s cancellations and delays.

Enable Emergency Call with Side Button
Apple’s iOS 13 also brings various improvements in the User’s safety side of things as well. Now, there is a feature to enable emergency SOS call with just 5 rapid side button presses instead of the traditional two button press and hold method. Here, the feature may come in handy during various situations and props to Apple for simplifying the process to enable it. The latest iOS 13 update has finally brought the ZIP functionalities to your files app. Now, the Files app supports Zip and Unzip natively with options to compress or archive files as well. Users only have to tap and hold their downloaded files to discover an option to Compress and Archive them.

Quickpath is a new way to type in your iPhone through swiping your finger above the keys without the need to remove it.
