4. Lyrics Search in Apple Music

Say you just heard a song that you liked but you can’t remember its name. Don’t worry, Apple Music now supports lyrics search in iOS 12 and it can find the song for you. Simply search the lyrics in Apple Music and the app will do the rest for you.

5. Power Reserve for Express Cards

On the newer models of iPhones i.e. X, XR and the XS Max, iOS 12 now reserves enough battery for digital transits even when the device powers off. This means that your device is still capable for scans even when its battery dies.

6. Alternative Face ID

Everyone is familiar today with Apple’s Face ID and many use it as their go-to login process to enter their iPhones. Now, iOS 12 brings a new update to Face ID that allows users to add a second appearance to their devices. This comes pretty handy for people who frequent sunglasses, heavy makeups and even wigs.

7. Animoji on FaceTime

iOS 12 now supports Animoji’s or 3D avatars while they are on a FaceTime call with their peers. However, the feature is only available on the iPhone-X or higher as it requires Apple’s Face Recognition feature to work.

iOS 12 has now updated the Messages app and brought some much needed updates. Firstly, the messages app can now automatically scan texts for various OTP’s and autofill them for you. Also, you can drag and drop both Animoji’s and Memoji’s onto your photos and messages.

9. Advanced DO-Not-Disturb (DND) controls

iOS 12 now lets users access Do-Not-Disturb mode straight from the lock screen. Similarly, users can also swipe up a notification to toggle the “Deliver Quietly” mode for that notification. Through this, the notification will still show but won’t get any pop-ups for that app. Also, users can automatically trigger the DND mode based on your preferred locations.

10. Lockout USB Accessories

There is a new privacy setting in iOS 12 that lets user lockout USB accessories from stealing your data. This feature will come in handy if you lose your device or want to protect it even more. To enable this feature, just head to Settings> Face ID & Passwords> USB accessories.

11. Automatic Updates

    iOS 12 now has a new Automatic Update option that users can turn on in the settings. Simply, the option removes the need for the manual software updates and the iPhone will update automatically. To enable this feature, go to Settings> General> Software Update> Automatic Updates.

12. New Siri Accents

Siri always had many languages and accents that users could customize to their likings. Now, iOS 12 brings two new accents i.e. Irish and South African to the list. To view and choose between them, just head to Settings> Siri & Search> Siri Voice.
